Senior 2010

I am a little partial to blue eyes and blonde hair - I wonder why?! This was a fun session with this awesome senior. This is my favorite image...

We started out in the church courtyard because the Methodist Church here has played an important role in his life. He is truly an inspiration! :)

Tennis anyone?!
Thanks Josh! Enjoy your senior year!!

Church Friends

I love fall because the leaves and trees are so beautiful. They also wore my favorite, black, which makes the images "pop" so much! Craig and I are blessed to be able to help this couple sponsor the high school youth group this year!

I thought this was a fun picture...throwing leaves!
My favorite, brother and sister. They have the best smiles! :)

Friends from College

I had the pleasure of visiting some friends from college and photographing their little 3 month old boy. They were both on the track team at Wichita State. We even got their dog, Macy, to pose for a picture!

Love this image! Thank you for letting me take your pictures and thanks for supper! :)

Senior 2010

This is a senior here in town. We had to reschedule a few times and finally had a beautiful day in the 70's to shoot. We went all over their property, by the pond, in a creek bed, in the weeds, and by a river. I was able to get some awesome shots and here are a couple that I have had a chance to work with so far!
I like how the sun is shining on his hair!
He's got a great smile! :)

Another Miracle Baby

Let me introduce you to baby Lincoln. His due date isn't here yet (Sept. 2), but, he is! Lincoln is about 6 weeks old and has had an amazing journey along with his mommy since May. To learn more about Lincoln, you can see his blog at www.tmrempel.blogspot.com.

I am truly amazed and inspired by Lincoln and his parents. He did such a great job today for only being home a few days. Anyway...take a peek below. The first image is one of my favorites, being held by Daddy!
In Mommy's hands!
I got a smile!!! Yay!! He teased me with a few smiles here and there and of course I wasn't ready, but I managed to get this one! So adorable.
Thank you to Lincoln and his parents for allowing me to photograph him. I can't wait to watch him grow up!!

Does anyone have baby fever yet?

Water Shot

I would love to be able to do underwater photography, but that isn't going to happen anytime soon, so I will have to settle for above water! We finished up this senior's photos this last week and we were both so excited to be able to do this pool shot. I hope she likes it! I think it looks pretty cool!

Precious Twin Girls

I was soooo excited to be able to photograph these beautiful twin girls yesterday. They were 9 days old and just so adorable. If you thought the last images caused baby fever, these will make your temperature spike!!

I absolutely LOVE this one!! It's not too often you catch a "smile"!
Snuggly sisters!
Pretty in (light) pink!
Pretty in (bright) pink!

Congratulations to the mommy and daddy! These girls are so beautiful and thank you for letting me capture their sweetness on camera!! :)

WARNING: Images will cause baby fever!!!

Welcome baby Fisher! He was just a week old for these pictures and was awake most of the time. This is so precious!! He is already stretching out and is losing his newborn curl. I have always wanted to do the rings on the toes because it captures just how little a newborn is, and they don't stay this way for long.
I think he will have awesome blue eyes like his big brother.

Love the little details of his lips...
and feet!
He came out with his hair already styled! This is so precious.

 Congratulations to baby Fisher's family!!

Another Maternity

This beautiful momma-to-be is due in August! They are having a little boy and are going to name him Boston! Another Boston was born in May, so maybe they will be classmates! Congratulations and I can't wait to meet the little guy!

I like this one, so happy in love awaiting their new baby!

Thanks for letting me capture this precious moment for you!

Business Cards

I have been quite busy today making my new business card. It is safe to say that I am ready for a break from this computer!!! Anyhow, here is the front of my card:

and here is the back:

I went live!

Well...I can't believe a year has already gone by since I first became serious about actually being a REAL photographer! Last June I bought my camera and afterwards helped my friend shoot at weddings throughout the year (and learned SOOOO much), and practiced on many people. So, thank you if you let me take your pictures this last year. You'll never know how much I appreciate it!

Anyway, I thought this would be a fast process. Take a few pictures here and there, edit, get a website, put it together, launch. Well, I don't think a year was very fast but I do realize even now looking back at my first images how much I have improved. If you go back to my first entry on the blog it was June 08 I believe and I had just bought photoshop. Wow. My list of things to buy continues to grow (and get more expensive - it never ends)!

My main reason for this entry is to let you know that I have launched MY REAL website! I have a .com! I am so excited. Without further ado, check it out and let me know what you think! Hopefully I can photograph YOU one of these days!!

Maternity - 36 weeks

This was my first real maternity session! After my status update on facebook of "Melissa has a maternity session this morning" I got a few questions..."What's a maternity session?" No, it has nothing to do with me, sorry to disappoint. It is simply taking pictures of a pregnant woman. :) I love the silhouette!

A new personal favorite...love me some blue eyes!!!

Precious innocence!

Profile. Again, they are not finding out the gender of the baby! How they do it I'll never know!

Beautiful!! I can't wait for baby E number two to get here so I can get those "make your heart melt" shots of a precious newborn!!

Wheat Harvest

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing these two seniors before all of the wheat had been cut!! Todd helps drive the grain cart during harvest. I had a good time getting him to smile for his pictures!!

I thought this was a really fun image of Mallory in her wheat field! There are so many great images of both of these seniors-to-be!

Thanks for letting me be a part of such a fun time in your lives!

June Photography Class

My friend Dena and I spent a few days in Newton for a Senior Photography class by Kirk Voclain.  It was amazing and I learned so much. One afternoon we walked around the campus and practiced taking pictures. It was a great time and really got me motivated to get busy with my photography again. So, for the last few days I've been working on my website!! I hope to have it up by  next week!!

This is Dena!!

A new image of myself, by Dena!!

Mother's Day Surprise

These 4 siblings got together for pictures today hoping to be able to surprise mom this weekend! They turned out fabulous...I'm very excited to see/hear from "mom" when she realizes what her kids have been up to! Plenty of excuses were given in order to pull this off...great job kids! :) Happy Mother's Day to you all!!

Miss Sydney

Miss Sydney turns one this week! I went to visit and take her one year/Easter pictures! She is such a doll. I love her eyes...they are so beautiful.

Long, pretty eyelashes!
